Welcome to the new Omnext portal

A quick orientation to the redesigned Omnext SQA portal and where familiar features moved to.

The Omnext SQA portal has been completely redesigned. Everything you could do before is still there, but pages are organised differently and several screens have been merged into a small number of clear sections. This article gives you a map.

Signing in

Open https://portal.omnext.net and sign in with your Omnext account. If your organisation uses Single Sign-on, you will be redirected to your identity provider.

After signing in you land on the Landscape: the overview of every application you have access to.

The layout

The portal is built around a fixed sidebar on the left and a content area on the right.

  • Landscape – insight across all your applications. Open one to zoom in.
  • Application section (Overview, Findings, Open source, Metrics, Access rules) – only active once you have opened an application.
  • Search, Trends, Manage – tools that work on the application you have open.
  • Dark mode – switch between the light and dark theme.
  • Rule catalogue – every rule Omnext checks for your organisation.
  • Settings – your personal preferences and, for administrators, everything needed to manage the organisation.
  • Your name (bottom left) – opens your account settings.

Above the content you will find a blue information banner while the new front-end is being rolled out. It links to this documentation and to support@omnext.net. Use the × on the right to dismiss it.

Where did things go?

If you know the previous portal, this is how the old pages map to the new ones:

  • My Applications / My portals → Landscape › Applications (Cards, Heatmap or Table view).
  • Portfolio ratings → Landscape › Ratings.
  • Rules and findings (portfolio) → Landscape › Rules & findings.
  • Scan selector / analysis picker → the analysis selector in the toolbar at the top of every application page, next to the VS comparison selector.
  • Dashboard → Overview.
  • Risk findings / Findings → Findings.
  • Whitelist / Accept & Exclude → accept findings directly on the Findings page; review and undo them under Manage › Accepting log; exclude modules under Manage › Excluded modules.
  • Scheduling and branch changes → Manage › Analyses and Manage › Branch for the application you have open, or Settings › Applications for administrators.
  • My Omnext (API access, keys) → Settings › API access.
  • My Organizations (users, authorisations, tags) → Settings › Organisation (Users, Access & permissions, Applications, Authorization presets, Application tags).
  • Rule Set Management → Settings › Rulesets and Settings › Apply rulesets; the read-only view is in Rule catalogue › Rulesets.
  • Release notes → Settings › Release notes.
  • Set default entry point for a portal → the favourite star in the application model tree.
