Using DevAssist (Mendix Studio Pro extension)

DevAssist is the Omnext extension for Mendix Studio Pro. It lets you analyse your Mendix app directly from Studio Pro and see the results without leaving your development environment.

Requirements
  • A Studio Pro version compatible with your DevAssist extension version.
  • Your application must be a valid Git repository.
  • A valid API key (see Omnext API documentation for where to find your key).
Install DevAssist
  1. Download the DevAssist Extension Manager and install it on your machine.
  2. Open the Extension Manager. It indexes your installed Studio Pro versions.
  3. Click Install for one of the versions.
  4. You're ready to open Studio Pro.
First-time setup
  1. Start Studio Pro. On first use, enter your API key.
  2. Once a valid key is entered, select your application. The extension tries to match the current project to a configured application and selects it automatically when it can.
Analyse your project
  1. Click the Analyze button.
  2. DevAssist collects all pending Git changes. Folders, modules and project security are always included, regardless of their Git status.
  3. The changes are zipped and uploaded.
  4. DevAssist polls for status. When the analysis is ready, the results appear in a grid.
