Look up any best-practice rule, what it checks, how to fix it and its default impact and effort.
Rule catalogue (sidebar) lists every analysis rule Omnext runs for your organisation – all rules for your contracted languages, filtered by the modules you hold. Rules of the Security module are the SAST rules.
The banner at the top tells you which modules (Quality, Security (SAST)) and languages your organisation holds.
Filtering the rules
- Language – All languages, or a specific one such as Java, Mendix or OpenSource.
- Type – All types, Quality or Security (SAST).
- Category – All categories, Maintainability, OpenSource, Performance, Reliability or Security.
- Search rules… filters by name; CSV exports the list.
The grid
Each row shows the Rule, its Type, Language, Category, Default impact and Default effort. Impact and effort determine the rule's default priority; organisations can override them in their own rulesets.
Rule details
Click a rule to open its details:
- badges for type, language and category, plus the default impact and effort;
- Description – what the rule checks and why it matters;
- How to fix – guidance for resolving findings;
- Good example and Bad example – code or model fragments illustrating the rule (where available).
