Navigating the portal: sidebar, grids, dark mode and organisation selector

Learn the interface conventions that are used on every page of the portal.

Most pages in the portal share the same building blocks. Once you know them, every page works the same way.

The sidebar

  • Click Collapse at the top of the sidebar to shrink it to icons only; click the menu icon again to expand it.
  • Greyed-out items (Overview, Findings, Open source, Metrics, Access rules, Search, Trends, Manage) become available as soon as you open an application from the Landscape.
  • Dark mode / Light mode toggles the colour theme. Your choice is remembered in this browser.

The organisation selector

If you belong to more than one organisation, an Organisation drop-down appears in the top-right corner of organisation-wide pages (Landscape › Ratings, All analyses, Rules & findings, and Settings). Pick the organisation you want to look at; all data on the page follows your choice.

Data grids

All tables in the portal behave the same way:

  • Sort by clicking a column header. An arrow shows the current sort direction.
  • Filter a column with the funnel icon next to its header.
  • Resize columns by dragging the divider between headers.
  • Reset grid (top right of every grid) restores the default sorting, filters and column widths.
  • Long lists are paginated. Use Rows to choose 10, 25, 50 or 100 rows per page and the ‹ › buttons to move between pages.
  • Many grids have a search box that filters the rows as you type and a CSV button that downloads the current data.

Filter panels and chips

Several pages (for example Landscape › Applications) show a Filters panel with a counter of active filters. Use Clear to remove them all at once. Selected values are shown as chips; click a chip again to deselect it.

Dialogs

Pop-up dialogs can be closed with the × in their top-right corner, with Cancel, or by pressing Esc. Nothing is saved until you press the confirming button (for example Save changes, Confirm accept or Schedule).
